This 9-day Kenyan safari takes you to several nature conservancies throughout the country.Your Kenya vacation begins in the capital, Nairobi. You might be a little overwhelmed when you first step foot in Nairobi, taken aback by the jungle of concrete high-rises and heavy traffic, but it won’t take you long to attune to the city’s vibrant energy. During your day in the city, take advantage of the incredible food scene in some of the many local restaurants and learn about the country’s history at the Nairobi National Museum.Leave Nairobi and head to your first nature conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is famous for its conservation programs for white and black rhinos (it was home to the world’s last northern white rhino, Sudan, who died March 2018). It’s also the only conservancy in Kenya with a chimpanzee sanctuary. During your time at Ol Pejeta, you’ll stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, a 5-star luxury camp that has 39 premium tents with private verandas overlooking the central waterhole where wild animals come to wash and bathe each evening. Spend your time in the conservancy heading on game drives and visiting the chimpanzee sanctuary as well as the rhino centre, where you’ll learn about the efforts to revive extinct rhino species.
Continue your Kenyan safari by heading to Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy, located in the Great Rift Valley. You’ll stay at Lake Elementaita Luxury Camp, a 5-star camp that captures the romance of the past on the banks of Lake Elementaita. Spend a full day heading on a game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you’ll see thousands of flamingos drawn to the alkaline in the lake. On the drive back to the lodge, you’ll also see Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, and leopards heading throughout the bush.Close out your trip to Kenya in Masai Mara National Reserve, the most famous game reserve in Kenya. Staying in one of the spacious rooms at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, you’ll head on game drives throughout the park to see the Big Five. If you visit during the dry season, you’ll also get front-row seats to the Great Migration, that incredible movement of over one million wildebeest and zebras. During your time in the park, you’ll also visit a Masai village to meet the traditional inhabitants of the region and learn about their distinct cultural traditions. You’ll then return to Nairobi for your flight home.

This 14-day Australia vacation takes you from Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef and finally to trendy Melbourne.Your Australia vacation begins in Sydney. You’ll find few cities as naturally appealing as Australia’s largest urban centre. Blessed with a massive natural harbour and home to a diverse array of go-getters, Sydney is gorgeous and vibrant and one of the world’s true urban highlights. There are a lot of ways to spend your time while in Sydney, so follow your fancy and take advantage of the city’s multifaceted appeal. Be sure to visit the harbour to see the iconic Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. If you want to take advantage of the sun, head to Bondi Beach and bond with the surfers who turn to Sydney when northerly countries grow cold. To say “G’day” to marsupials like kangaroos, koalas, and wombats, head to Taronga Zoo, or go for a full-day hike in the gorgeous Blue Mountains to get a taste of Australia’s famous wilderness. Sydney will also treat you well if you have an appetite for culture; with plenty of museums, world-class restaurants, and thumping nightclubs, you’ll find a lot to keep you occupied. From Sydney, head north to tropical Cairns, the nation’s gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns may be small, but it boasts an incredible tropical atmosphere. Be sure to shop the Promenade and take a dip in the massive saltwater lagoon before heading on an excursion onto the Great Barrier Reef. As the world’s largest living structure and home to over 1,500 species of fish, the Great Barrier Reef is a marvel. You’ll enjoy snorkelling in the Low Isles, glass bottom boat coral viewing, where you journey through elaborate coral gardens, take a guided beach walk or just relax on the beach. After you return to Cairns, you can explore the wonders of the mainland by heading to the Daintree Rainforest, the mystical home of the “dreamtime” that has been a significant part of indigenous Australian culture for thousands of years.Continue along to Melbourne on your Australia vacation. Sydney may have been blessed with nature’s bounty, but Melbourne is the country’s cultural capital and the world’s most livable city according to The Economist. It also keeps getting cooler. You won’t find a more vibrant mix of arts and culture and high living standards in the country. Ground zero for the trendy scene is Federation Square, where you’ll find the laneway and rooftop bars and restaurants that lead the city’s culinary innovation. For more traditional sites, head to St. Kilda’s to visit the famous amusement park, Luna Park, or enjoy a pint and talk football, cricket, or Formula One with the sports-crazed locals of bohemian Fitzroy. While in Melbourne, you can take advantage of the nearby highlights. Head to Philip Island to see the Little Penguin parade where, every night, as the sun goes down, up to a hundred Little Penguins (pint-sized birds less than a foot tall) waddle onto land and head to their nests. It’s an enchanting experience and unfathomably adorable. You can also head to the Yarra Valley to enjoy some of Australia’s best wines, surf the breaks at Geelong, or drive the Great Ocean Road to the see the Twelve Apostles and other natural icons of Australia. This Australia vacation showcases the natural and urban highlights of this incredible nation.
